集装箱正面吊由工程机械底盘，伸缩臂架，集装箱吊具等三部分组成，底盘有发动机，动力换档变速箱，前桥，后桥，转向系统，驾驶室，车架，配重，车轮等部件；伸缩臂架有伸缩油缸，俯仰油缸，臂架等部件；集装箱吊具有旋转机构，上架，联接架，底架，伸缩架，伸缩油缸，防摇油缸，侧移油缸，旋锁油缸等部件。

集装箱正面吊有可伸缩和左右旋转的集装箱吊具，能用于20英尺、40英尺集装箱装卸作业，吊装集装箱时正面吊不一定要与集装箱垂直，可以与集装箱成夹角作业。在起吊后，可旋转吊具，以便通过比

较狭窄的通道。同时，吊具可以左右侧移各800mm，以便于在吊装时对箱，提高作业效率。对于场地条件较差的货运站，正面吊也能正常作业。

伸缩式的臂架，可带载变幅，集装箱的起降由臂架伸缩和变幅来完成，在臂架伸出和俯仰油缸伸出时，其起升速度较快，在下降时同时锁入，可获得较快的下降速度。在作业时，可同时实现整车行走、变幅、臂架伸缩动作，具有较高的工作效率。
